It’s no secret, I like to read. Every night before I close my eyes, I have to read at least ten pages of a book. Something that I hope sparks some insanely cool dreams.

I’m currently reading an amazing book by Don Miguel Ruiz and his son called The Fifth Agreement, and these words shared on the clouds above hit me. Hard.

I haven’t been able to get them out of my head for the past few days.

Read them again…

“Every single judgement you tell yourself was not there when you were born.”

When you came into the world, you were a blank slate. Nothing but love. Everything was new.

And then, you started picking up things. First from your parents, maybe some day care providers. You picked up thoughts from other kids. As you got older, you started picking up thoughts about yourself from teachers. Really, everyone you come into contact with will do something to create some thought inside your head.

Here’s the thing, though.

They are not the truth, so you don’t need to believe them.

You came into this world with nothing but love. Any thought or judgement coming from a place that is not love, is false.

I’m asking you to think about this for a few moments. These judgements you accumulate throughout your life do not serve you.

You were born to love. To love the Divine Spirit that connects us all, to love yourself and to love others the same.

You are and always will be enough.
You are and always will be courageous.
You are and always will be brave.
You are and always will be perfect.
You are and always will be loved.

Because all of those statements are true. You are enough. You are courageous. You are brave. You are loved. You are perfect. You are all of those things and so much more.

Those statements above, the ones full of bravery and courage and enough-ness and love. Those are the words that belong in your head. Those are the words to replay over and over in your head. Those are the words you need to tell yourself every night as you lay your head down to sleep. Those are the affirmations you need to say to yourself as you wake up to start the day. Those are the words you need to say to yourself every single time someone tells you otherwise.

Imagine the light you’d bring to the world if you woke up knowing every single morning that you are perfect and loved. Imagine the smile you’d be able to gift to others. The laughter you could share with all the people you meet daily. The lightness in the way you’d walk, and how there’s no tension in your body. You’d literally feel lighter. Love is magical like that. Truth is magical like that.

You are responsible for the judgements you tell yourself. You control the thoughts that run through your head. It’s time to take back control over what you believe about yourself. That’s the beauty of your life and your mind and your thoughts. It’s all yours. You get to choose what you believe.

You are capable of so much more than you give yourself credit for. You are strong enough to create lasting change. To push out the lies and negative judgements you pass on yourself, and fill your thoughts up with nothing but love and positivity. You are worth it. You deserve to feel the love you were born into this world with. You do.

In this moment, right now, you are fully alive. Are you going to keep wasting these precious moments lying to yourself? Because time is a finite resource. It’s going to run out at some point. And when it does, don’t you want to look back at your life and have no regrets? Don’t you want to look back and see all the love you bestowed on the world? To be able to see the smiles you inspired in others? Don’t you want to look back at the adventures you went on and the memories you created with all of your loved ones? How you picked up someone who needed help?

Because LOVE is the only infinite resource we have. LOVE grows exponentially. LOVE changes the world. And that LOVE all starts with you.
