I love helping people understand the simplicity of healing.

One of the biggest keys of healing is remembering that our attitude and how we see things will eventually affect our health.

There are a lot of simple techniques and ideas that seem to help people in incredibly profound ways. Our lives are so full of blessings. We are given healthy bodies to do incredible things with.

The other day, I was working with a client who mentioned how fatigued he was. We talked about the importance of diet, exercise, and stress reduction to help support a positive energy state. As he was talking to me, I noticed a certain phrase he kept using as he spoke.

I have to pick up my kids. I have to make dinner. I have to pay my bills. I have to go to the gym. I have to get the laundry done. I have to make my schedule.

It stood out like a sore thumb to me, and when this happens in the work I do, I know this is something that needs to be addressed in the session to help healing occur.

When we use the words “I have to,” it puts a sensation of pressure in our bodies and creates the feeling of resentment over time. Our lives aren’t full of things that we “have to” do. Our lives are full of things that we have been given an opportunity to do. We have been given the opportunity to care for and support our beautiful children. We have been given incredible food and hands that work to prepare dinner for people we love. We have been given bodies to take care of and exercise so that we can enjoy this life. We have been given bills to pay for the blessed lifestyle that we live.

Instead of feeling like we “have to” do so much, incredible shifts in energy levels can happen when we focus on the fact that we “get to” do all of these things in our lives.

It’s a simple thing to be reminded of that can have pretty incredible results if we commit to paying attention to our attitude. If this adjustment of attitude doesn’t seem to make a shift, it might be a good idea to sit back and look at how you can simplify your life a little bit.

Our lives can be full of blessings or full of burdens depending on how we choose to see things. Seeing things as blessings creates energy, joy, and gratitude. Seeing things as burdens creates tension, resentment, and fatigue. One of the most beautiful things about creating quality of life is that quality of life is a choice that we make. Quality of life has much less to do with circumstances and has a lot more to do with perspective of how we choose to see things.

Is it a burden or a blessing? You get to choose!
