If you were to think back to when you were a child… what sparked your creativity and joy?
As an adult, it’s easy to get caught up in the daily grind and forget what we love.
After working with hundreds of clients, I have discovered that when we tap into a passion that brings joy, everything changes.
Take Gina. Gina is a therapist who spends her days in her private practice helping clients. She came to me out of frustration in her marriage and a desire to grow her business. After understanding her subconscious thought patterns and guiding her through my Emotional Reset Method, she uncovered a desire to paint. I led her through her first painting session, how to set an intention for her art piece and let the art flow. At the end of the painting session, she created a beautiful art piece and felt so much freedom within herself and her passion to create. To this day, she continues to create more beautiful pieces and allow herself the space to find joy in her life through art.
We all have an artist within whether it is art, music, entrepreneurship, motherhood, cooking, or (insert any word here that taps into joy). The more experiences I have in working clients, I see how we all have a creative genius within that is often untapped. Until we bring awareness to it.
Sometimes it takes a life event to force us to discover more within ourselves and for some, it takes a curiosity to explore and uncover the unlimited amount of resources within.
This week on my Beauty and the Mess podcast I chatted with DallasK, Los Angeles-based producer/songwriter/DJ, DallasK is one of the defining voices of today’s dance music generation with an inimitable sound that seamlessly traverses the realms of EDM, pop and beyond. In this episode, DallasK shares how the love of music turned into a dream career and how merging his passions was what led to his success. He opens up with us on what it takes to create art and fulfillment and truly, the meaning of life.
One of my favorite quotes from DallasK in this episode is when we chatted on the creation of his art and how he fuels his creativity. DallasK said “Detaching yourself from the results of or the outcome rather of what happens with the piece of art and maintaining the the love for the process and the love for the journey is kind of the most important thing that a creator can do is strengthen that within themselves.”
We all have the power to strengthen our love for not only the process of art, but the love for the journey of life. That is why I love to paint. It’s the one area where I can allow pure flow and not be in my head with any thoughts taking up real estate in my mind. Art, like life, is a magical journey… when we allow it.
What inspires creativity and joy in your life? Are you listening to that genius within you that knows you are capable of so much more? Check out episode 10 with DallasK, Reach Your Highest Potential and let’s get this conversation started in the comments below!
