A Message To Your Heart
I know how much it hurts when things don’t go the way you want. There’s that feeling in your chest that you can hardly breathe. There’s anger you can feel coursing through your blood. The anxiety and fear in your gut that nothing will ever work out in your favor.
I am sorry you are hurting and afraid.
Whether it is job loss, financial issues, a break up, or health issues – it is so important to feel your disappointment as deeply as you can when things get tough. When you have those strong emotions, remember to inhale deeply through the nose and exhale out through the mouth saying to yourself, “I give myself permission to honor how I feel.”
When things are uncomfortable and painful it is so easy to hold your breath and pretend that things aren’t feeling as bad as they really are. It is so easy to try not to let things affect you. It is so easy to allow yourself to dishonor your experience. It can be super scary to honor how hurt and vulnerable you really are. As hard as it seems, if you allow yourself to breathe consciously and feel as deeply as you can, you will heal faster and the pain will transform more quickly.
Breathing does to emotions what oxygen does to wounds. It heals. Breathing consciously is truly an act of self love and self acknowledgement.
Taking a big, deep breath can be a signal to the body that although things are hard right now, you are safe and things will get better. Even though things seem impossible at the moment, somehow you will be given the strength you need to get through whatever you are going through. Conscious breathing creates strength in the emotional body.
Life is full of all kinds of ups and downs. When you remember to breathe you create an anchor in the chaos of life, that over time will create confidence inside of yourself. As you practice deep breathing and honoring your feelings you will begin to hear a whisper that reminds you that everything is going to be okay – and even better than okay. You are so much stronger than you realize, and though it’s hard to see when you’re in the middle of pain and stress, it’s all building up to something bigger and beautiful. All you have to do is take that first courageous step when things get rough, a step that starts with a single breath.
You are so much stronger than you realize and though it’s hard to see when you’re in the middle of pain and stress, it’s all building up to something bigger and beautiful. @intuitionheals (Click to Tweet!)
