Few know what it meant to take life for granted more than eighteen-year-old Ben Breedlove. Ben died on December 25, 2011 of a cardiac arrest. Christmas day.
Aptly named Breedlove was diagnosed with the rare condition, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), at a very young age. His first brush with death was at the tender age of four, where he recalled seeing “a bright light” that made him smile then, and whenever he thought about it throughout his short life. His next brushes with death occurred in 2011, one in the summer, during a routine tonsillectomy, and another mere weeks before his death.
This time his heart had stopped pumping blood for a full three minutes, during which time he felt at great peace, in a white, wall-less dimension, wearing a white suit, hanging out with his favorite rapper, Kid Cudi. The sensation yielded by this experience was so good, when he was resuscitated by emergency personnel, he recalled “I wish I never woke up.”
On Christmas day, seven days after his posting the below videos, his wish came true, as he returned to that peaceful, white world. Leaving us with a profound sentiment:
“Do you believe in angels or God? I do.”
